Following President Ramaphosa’s announcement to move the nation into another amended lockdown level 3 on the 1st February 2021, we continue to welcome you to enjoy our all open facilities safely as we observe the lockdown regulations.
The following changes will be observed at The Bothongo Rhino and Lion Nature Reserve as per the new rules:
Weekdays from 08h00 to 17h00, Tuesday to Friday (the reserve is closed to the public on Mondays but you may still call our Booking Office)
Weekends and public holidays from 08h00 to 18h00
Online bookings are still available;
All allowable facilities are open Tuesday through to Sunday
You may now buy alcohol at our restaurants for on-site consumption
Swimming pools and play parks are open; (the Play park at Kiosk/Boma area remains closed for renovations)
Bike shop and BMX tracks are open. Please enquire, tracks are sometimes closed on account of weather.
Braai and picnic spots are open – please observe all Covid safety protocols.
Hippo Walkway closed for renovations
No changes to:
Restaurants are open as usual with a limit of 50 people inside, 100 people in outside areas;
Accommodation is open as usual;
Game drives are running as usual;
The Wondercave is open as usual, with tours starting promptly every 2 hours at 9am, 11am, 1pm and 3pm. Please arrive at the Wondercave at least 20 mins before the tour starts;
Wildlife centre and reptile park are open as usual;
Curio shop and Kiosk open as usual.
For your safety and in accordance with the regulations, social distancing, sanitising regularly, washing hands often and mask wearing are required.
