The coats orange colouring is paler than other tigers. The stripes are brown rather than black and widely spaced and with white ruff of fur around its neck. The polpulation of Siberian tigers has shrunk to currently 430 in the wild and 490 in captivity. The males are 3.om long and weigh up to 300kg with females 2.6m long weighing between 100 - 170kg. The gestation period is 98 to 110 days wehre two to three cubs are born.
