Day Visitors
Rhino & Lion Nature Reserve Day Visitors
Game Drives
Day or night drives, with a duration of roughly two and a half hours are conducted seven days a week. These can be incorporated with a braai or a tour of the Wonder caves for that special outing or enjoy the lion feed on Saturdays and Sundays. Big groups and schools are welcome. (Outsourced to Non-Reserve Entities)
Horse Trails
The Danielsrust Horse Trails traverse some of the last remaining big farms in Gauteng. Situated in the Kromdraai Conservancy, 40km northwest of Johannesburg, one can view over 600 head of game from horseback. Trails take you through the Rhino and Lion Nature Reserve, and you can visit the spectacular Wondercave. Overnight facilities are available with hot water and braai facilities.

Hippopotamus amphibius

Hippopotamus weigh an average of 1700 to 2000 kg. An adult can consume up to 130kg food a night. The gestation period is 215 days. Their lifespan is 30 years.
